Hoover - WindTunnel, Platinum and Bagless Vacuum Cleaners

Hoover is one if not the most popular vacuum cleaner found on retail shelves. The WindTunnel upright vacuum series has seen a staple in there product line. They also offer a few canisters that are also pretty good. The popularity of the WindTunnel series is a benefit to consumers because the bags, belts, filters and any miscellaneous replacement parts you may need down the road should be very easy to find.

The Hoover upright series offers bagged and bagless models. We generally prefer bagged vacuums to bagless, but if you want a bagless vacuum cleaner the Hoover "Twin Chamber" upright models are an excellent choice in their price range. The "Twin Chamber" bagless filtration can be found on WindTunnels and other Hoover uprights series vacuums.

We really like the Hoover WindTunnel upright models, and find them to be the best of the Hoover product line. The WindTunnel upright series has been out for a few years now. Intially, there were some bugs that needed to be worked out and Hoover addressed any of the shortcomings. The result is that the current Hoover upright WindTunnel product line is one on the best retail level upright vacuums available. There are also Self-Propelled WindTunnel upright units available if that is a personal preference.

Hoover also makes a few different canisters that are also fairly popular and easy to find in most retail outlets that sell vacuums. The Hoover canisters we see on a day to day basis are pretty good in general. Hoover offers basic features in there canisters series, including a bagless canister model. All of the Hoover canisters models we looked at did an excellent job on hard floors and a good job on carpeting.

The Hoover Platinum series marks the companies efforts to go head to head with Oreck. The lightweight Platinum upright and portable canister are becoming very popular and for good reason. It cost less than the competition and perform arguably as well.

We found a lot of good deals on Hoover vacuums online. The fact that the major retailers are competing with the independent vacuum shops really helps drive the pricing down. We also noticed that the bags and filters were actually available at most of the major retailers we visited, which is actually kind of uncommon. From our experience they usually stock whatever their current inventory of vacuums use and a very small selection for other models. Hoover has several models that have received some really good ratings and reviews from some of the magazines and consumer resources that we came across. Hoover offers a very decent vacuum cleaner in the low to mid price ranges.
