Hoover Self Propelled WindTunnel Upright Vacuum

The Self-Propelled Hoover WindTunnel bagged upright vacuum cleaner we chose to review (U6485900) did very well. It did a really good on the various levels of carpet and on the hard surface floors. We found the tools included and all of the built in features really added up to a very good vacuum cleaner for under $300.

Hoover has been making self-propelled vacuums for a long time now. This is a love it or hate feature. If you haven't used a self propelled vacuum, you really need to actually operate one to make sure you desire this feature. I have witnessed customers who really enjoy this feature and others who did not care for it.

The Self-Propelled feature makes sense if you're in a single story home and the rooms you are vacuuming aren't cluttered up with furniture. A self-propelled vacuum is approximately 5 to 8 lbs. heavier than a regular vacuum, so you're probably not going to like this feature if you need to carry a vacuum upstairs.

The Hoover WindTunnel Self-Propelled upright has a lot of features for a vacuum in this price range. It included the regular on board tools you would expect and a Pet Hair Tool. This tool is a must for cleaning your stairs. This models has a 31 foot cord, 8 foot hose, and 5 height adjustment setting.

If you would like buy a self propelled vacuum, this is an excellent choice. This Hoover vacuum is well built and has a relatively low rate of repair when compared to other retail level vacuums in a similar price range.

The Self-Prolled WindTunnel has decent filtration and more than adequate features and performance for a vacuum that cost between $200 to $300. If you don't think you need the self- propelled feature, there are other Hoover WindTunnel models available with very similar features to choose from.

Models numbers change all the time, but if you see a Hoover Windtunnel Self Propelled vacuum that looks similar to this, then the difference are probably very minor and both vacuums should be comparable based on our experience with Hoover over the years.
