Bosch Formula Duo Plus HEPA Canister Review

The Bosch Formula Duo Plus canister vacuum with HEPA filtration features a 12" electric brush for carpet cleaning and a 1400 watt motor. Weighing in at just 12 pounds, the Formula Duo Plus HEPA canister vacuum really performed well and we felt it was very well designed. The Formula Duo Plus canister is a premium vacuum cleaner. Premium vacuums are generally made better but cost a bit more.

The Bosch Formula Duo Plus obviously utilizes HEPA filtration. The Bosch Formula series also ulitilizes a premium dust bag, which plays an important role in this vacuums abilities to minimize emission. The vacuum bag capacity was close to 1 gallon, which is generally the size you should expect in a mid-sized canister.

Bosch is know as being on of the better vacuum brands when it comes to producing miminal emissions during the vacuum process. The canisters are designed to limit any air from being realease until it is passed through various filtration steps.

Bosch has included an ergonomic handle with a power switch on the hose for convenience. Equally convenient would be the hand held turbo brush that is included with the Formula Duo Plus HEPA vacuum. The suction powered turbo brush is a very convenient option for stairs, and is rarely included with the purchase of a canister. This canister also has castor wheels on the base of the canister, which really makes it very easy to manuever while you are operating the vacuum.

The Bosch Formula Duo Plus also has the basic cleaning features you should expect from your better vacuum manufacturers: Dust bag indicator, crevice, brush, and upholstery tools, and automatic cord rewind, a carrying handle, and the ability to park the machine into position for storage.

This Bosch canister model compares very well to other premium mid-sized vacuum cleaners, and peformed much better than any of the off the shelf canister vacuum we looked into. This is a canister vacuum for a consumer who wants a powerful, relatively lightweight canister vacuum for a small to mid-sized home with a lot of low to medium pile carpeting. We felt that it was well designed and constructed and was well worth the asking price. The only thing we felt would have improved this canister was the inclusion of a floor brush for smooth surface floors.
